How to Book a VFS Global Kochi Appointment (2026)

5 March 2026

Whatever visa you’re applying for, if your application is routed through VFS Global Kochi, you’ll almost certainly need to visit the centre in person at some point in the process. Here’s how the booking actually works.

VFS Global handles different countries through different portals

There isn’t one single “VFS Kochi” booking system — each country’s visa application is managed through that country’s own VFS Global portal (or, for the US, through the consulate’s own appointment system with document handling separately). This means your first step is identifying the correct portal for your specific destination country, not a general VFS website.

Step 1: Complete your online visa application first

For most countries — UK, Ireland, Schengen states, Australia, Canada — you complete the actual visa application online through that country’s official immigration portal before booking a VFS appointment. The VFS appointment is for biometrics and/or physical document submission, not the application itself.

Step 2: Register and book through the correct VFS portal

Once your online application is submitted, you register on the relevant country’s VFS Global India portal, select the Kochi centre, and choose an available slot. During busy periods — especially before summer travel and around December — slots can book out days or weeks in advance, so check early.

Step 3: Prepare your document set

Bring physical copies of every document required for your specific visa category, even if you’ve uploaded them online — VFS staff verify documents in person. Missing even one required document can mean rescheduling your entire appointment.

Step 4: What happens at the appointment

Depending on the country and your visa history, you’ll have your fingerprints and photograph taken (biometrics), submit your physical documents, and in some cases pay the visa fee or a service fee directly at the centre. Appointments are usually short if your documents are complete and in order.

Step 5: Tracking your application afterward

After your VFS visit, you can track your application status through the relevant country’s VFS tracking portal using your reference number. Passports are typically returned by courier to your registered address once a decision is made.

A tip that saves people the most trouble

The single biggest cause of a wasted VFS trip is arriving with an incomplete document set — either something missing, or a document that doesn’t match what was declared in the online application. We prepare a country-specific checklist for every client before their appointment, so nothing is left to chance.
