UK Student Visa — CAS to Visa, Step by Step

The process, step by step

3. English language proof — Where your CAS requires it, we guide you on booking IELTS for UKVI or the accepted equivalent test in time for your application.
4. Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) — Paid online as part of the application, covering NHS access during your stay.
5. Online application and VFS Kochi biometrics — The application is submitted online, followed by a biometrics appointment at VFS Global Kochi.
6. TB test, if required — Applicants from India generally need to complete a TB test at an approved clinic before applying.

Financial requirements — the part students get wrong most often

UKVI requires maintenance funds to be held in the required account type, in the required currency thresholds, for a continuous 28-day period ending no more than 31 days before you apply — a single dip below the required amount during that window can restart the clock. This is the single most common reason UK student visa applications from India are delayed or refused, and it’s entirely avoidable with correct planning, which is where we focus most of our attention.
